Out-Trip in the Wilderness
BBWC was originally launched to provide backcountry out-trips for several camps, including Camp Evergreen, SABC, Camp Caroline and Gull Lake Baptist Camp. BBWC was able to obtain the Willow facility in 2005, which has provided more modern conveniences for campers, however, BBWC believes wilderness Out-Trips/Overnight Trips are fundamental to the camp and are what make BBWC special and unique.
In 2026, BBWC is going back to its roots, with all campers provided the opportunity to experience an Out-Trip/Overnight Trip.
What is an Out-Trip?
Out-trips are specifically designed wilderness camping trips that are free as possible from modern conveniences, thereby allowing campers to get out of their comfort zone and build skills, character and faith in Jesus Christ. Each Out-Trip/Overnight Trip will be unique and take place in an age and skill appropriate way. Through Out-trips/Overnight Trips, campers will experience sleeping under a canvas tent, cooking over an open fire, learning what is essential to living in the wilderness, all while connecting with God, their fellow campers and their staff leaders on a deeper level.
